JOB TITLE:
SALES ASSOCIATE

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The Sales Associate is the first line of contact for inbound communications with clients and the public, and is responsible for all general product, booking, and Walk communications.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  1. Answer phones and general inquiry emails. Ensure callers' and emailers' questions are answered or directed to other staff as appropriate.
  2. Process and respond to brochure requests: create mailing labels, and mail brochures.
  3. Process bookings: enter bookings into the reservation system; generate invoices, process payments, send confirmation email to client.
  4. Input client specific information into the reservation system and follow-up on questions, special requests, or concerns. Maintain paper file of signed booking forms.
  5. Coordinate and prepare Walk mailings for each departure, covering all aspects such as mailing scheduling, document/item assembly, mailing list/label creation, etc.
  6. Review and update Client information in the Peak 15 reservation system.
  7. Regularly review website and other public-facing content for accuracy, and make corrections as possible.
  8. Order toner and other supplies as needed.

SKILLS & SYSTEMS PREFERRED:

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Peak 15 reservation system experience preferred.
  • Amadeus or Rail Europe, British Railways helpful.
  • Proficiency in HTML coding helpful, but not necessary.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong travel background or travel history.
  • Knowledge of at least one of the regions we visit is preferred.
  • Avid hiker, runner or walker preferred.
