A Bucket List to Remember

In the midst of spring - and I hope it's glorious where you are - allow us to talk about winter!

Because it's never too early to think about our big bucket-list Walks, in Patagonia and New Zealand.

We really believe that traveling somewhere very far-flung with The Wayfarers has got to be the best way to see a new and exotic destination.

We take care of everything - accommodation, meals and your baggage. Our Walk teams are the best in the business - meet some of our Kiwi and Argentinian Leaders.

Patagonia - As 'End of the World' as it gets

We're hard-pressed to identify a part of the world that can top Patagonia for natural splendor.

The scenery at the southernmost tip of Argentina is a photographer's dream come true: stunning volcanic landscapes, massive glaciers, sprawling steppe-like plains stretching to the horizon...

Trek through the crisp air of El Chalten, and take a boat ride to get up close and personal with the imposing Perito Moreno Glacier, where enormous chunks of ice "calve" into the water with a sound like thunder.

We hike the famed Fitz Roy trail and visit an original pioneer ranch where we see a demonstration of sheep shearing. There's the opportunity to take a horseback ride over the estancia too, to see a rich array of wildlife from flamingos to guanacos.

Throw in rich cultural traditions, world-class food and wine, wonderful accommodations and all The Wayfarers' usual attention to detail and our Walk is THE way to experience it.

New Zealand - Discover spectacular South Island

New Zealand's South Island hosts the purest natural landscapes you'll ever experience.

From wildlife unique to this part of the world; glacial valleys (and the glaciers that form them!); star-filled night skies and snow-topped mountains, the landscapes here are famous the world over.

Lush rainforests give way to coastal walkways along dramatic shores, where you may well see a local fur seal relaxing right across the path!

The crazy pancake rock formations at Punakaiki are as old as it gets while more modern history comes to life in an historic, but very much alive, gold mining town.

There's a reason this 13-nighter is our longest Walk - there's so much to see!

Our Wayfarer friend Lisa Dasteel was kind enough to let us know that our New Zealand Walk is: "The absolute BEST hiking tour, with The Wayfarers as well as other hiking companies, that I have ever done!

"Both Richard and I enjoyed it so much that we may even do the same exact tour all over again next year (if Geoff and Colin are still the Walk Leader and Manager!)

"They were both absolutely terrific and worked so well together!"
