Where is the ultimate romantic hiking getaway? There will always be a place in our hearts for the Amalfi Coast - and not just for Valentine's Day.

Open my heart and you will see, Graved inside of it, 'Italy' - Robert Browning

Italy and romance go hand in hand, but Amalfi and the other multi-colored towns along that crazy coastline are just made to love. The gorgeous mountain-top town of Ravello is a popular spot for romantics. Imagine gazing out to sea from a Terrace of Infinity! The Amalfi Coast with The Wayfarers

We hike from Ravello to the Villa Cimbrone. Marble busts line the a parapet and the views from the terrace overlook the bay, where the blues of sky and the sea seem to blend together. Wagner, Longfellow, DH Lawrence and Greta Garbo were huge admirers of this place. We arrive in picture-perfect Positano by boat and its tiny streets are perfect for strolling, maybe under the shade of wisteria-clad buildings. Linger over a cool drink under a colorful umbrella at a beach-side restaurant, or sit on the beach, contemplating the sunset over the distant islands.

The Amalfi Coast offers breathtaking vistas

The Amalfi Coast offers some irresistibly romantic views when you climb high up in the mountains. One of the most breathtaking hikes is along the Sentieri degli Dei (Pathway of the Gods) high above Positano. The vista is well worth all those steps! The Amalfi Coast Walking Vacations with The Wayfarers

In Amalfi itself, first-time visitors stand in awe in front of the wide steps leading up from the piazza to the mighty Duomo, the cathedral of St Andrew, which looms above. Seeing the Amalfi Coast from the sea is a beautiful experience and we ferry to romantic Capri to explore this enchanting isle's lush countryside, quaint towns and awe-inspiring caverns. After lunch on a terrace with a splendid sea view, we continue walking to the trendy town of Capri and the famous Piazzetta. We then return to the harbor for a sublime boat ride back to our hotel in Sorrento, with its churches and cloisters, gardens and citrus groves. Come with us to the Amalfi Coast this year – and you may just leave a little piece of your heart there too!
