A Spring vacation – the days are stretching out, the sun’s gentle warmth means we can shed a sweater and look forward to eating outdoors again. And what better way to experience it than getting out and walking?

Our Walks for Spring 2017 celebrate all that’s great about the season. Trails and towns are quieter at this time of year – all the better to hear the birdsong!

Where would you take a Wayfarers’ Spring vacation?

The UK is beautiful early in the season. The trees are blossoming, the fields are greening up and the flowers in those thatched cottage gardens are a riot of color. There may be a few April showers, but as we know, they bring forth the May flowers! From rocky Cornwall or rural Dorset on the southern Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, via the north country to the Scottish islands of the Outer Hebrides, coastal Wales, or Ireland’s north and south, each region is so different, but beautiful in its own special way.

Venture to Europe and there is so much to see.

Tuscany Walking Vacations with The Wayfarers

In the south, our two Walks in Sicily (which sit very happily 'back-to-back',) make the most of milder temperatures. The wildflowers carpeting the trail here have to be seen to be believed. From the renaissance splendors of Tuscany to the charms of the Italian lakes or the raw drama of Puglia’s rugged landscape, Italy in Spring opens its arms to hikers. Imagine ending the day relaxing on a terrace, watching a sunset, enjoying a well-earned aperitivo!

Further east, Croatia’s sunny Dalmatian Coast sit happily in balmy Spring weather, awaiting discovery.

And what about a pilgrimage in Spain? Come with us on a life-affirming Walk highlighting the famous Camino de Santiago with the ultimate goal of arrival at Santiago de Compostela, as have so many walkers across the centuries.
