Lindeth Howe Country House Hotel
Lindeth Howe is an elegant Victorian building, once owned by Beatrix Potter and where she illustrated some of her famous childrens books. Built in 1879 as a holiday home for a wealthy mill-owner, the house, which commands stunning views over Lake Windermere, is now transformed into a comfortable and luxurious hotel with a pool and leisure and fitness center. All the 34 bedrooms are ensuite, with bathtub, shower, tea and coffee making facilities, free WiFi, hairdryer, and digital flat-screen TV/radio. The Blue Lion Hotel
From the first moment that you set foot into the Blue Lion, you will be overwhelmed by its charm and it's character. Originally built towards the end of the eighteenth Century as a coaching inn, The Blue Lion attracted trade from travellers and drovers, on their journeys through Wensleydale. Swinton Park Hotel
An exclusive luxury castle hotel, Swinton Park is the ancestral home of the Cunliffe-Lister family and is set in 200 acres of parkland, lakes and gardens. The Black Swan Hotel
Centrally located on the market square, this lovely hotel offers a unique combination of Georgian, Elizabethan and Tudor styles of architecture. Raithwaite Hall
Set back on the clifftops at Sandsend, 19th-century Raithwaite Hall was once a local shipping magnate's country residence. Now it is a luxurious hotel surrounded by landscaped grounds on the 80-acre Raithwaite estate. All the ensuite guestrooms are individually designed, some with a balcony or terrace overlooking the gardens.
