Each day brings new sights and landscapes to be explored. With a Walk Level 2 rating, our daily custom Walks are designed for all Wayfarers to enjoy. In addition to seeing the Great Glens, we visit famous Highlands sights like Ben Nevis, Cawdor Castle, Culloden Battlefield, and a very memorable Highlands distillery.

    Sunday Overnight: Spirit of Scotland

Meet at Kingussie Rail Station and transfer to our luxurious barge, The Spirit of Scotland, moored in Banavie at the foot of Ben Nevis, the UK's highest mountain. We'll meet for a champagne welcome dinner on the barge.

    Monday Overnight: Spirit of Scotland

Before departing Banavie we visit Neptune's Staircase, the longest staircase lock in Britain. After a short transfer we walk part of Glen Loy, an area rich in wildlife and Highlands landscapes. Here the river Loy tumbles through a wooded corridor providing spawning pools for salmon. After lunch, we walk along the canal to Gairlochy, then cruise on to Laggan Lochs through land owned by the Cameron Clan.

    Tuesday Overnight: Spirit of Scotland

Today's walk takes us past Laggan Bridge, the highest point on the Caledonian Canal. We follow the eastern shore of Loch Oich through pristine woodlands to Invergarry. Continuing our walk over Oich Bridge, we meet our barge for lunch and cruise to Kytra. We'll explore this beautiful section of the canal and walk through woodlands overlooking Loch Ness.

    Wednesday Overnight: Spirit of Scotland

Arriving in Fort Augustus, we visit the private Highland Club, a former 19th century Benedictine Monastery. On the banks of Loch Ness we are treated to a falconry and birds of prey demonstration. Fort Augustus is a busy little town centered on a series of locks which are always a hive of activity. Our circular walk takes us around Fort Augustus and the Kilchuimen Burial Ground before a traditional afternoon tea in town. Tonight we'll dine in a local restaurant.

    Thursday Overnight: Spirit of Scotland

This morning we enjoy a picturesque cruise across Loch Ness, passing the spectacular 13th century ruins of Urquhart Castle. Arriving at the hamlet of Dochgarroch late morning, we can stretch our legs walking to Tomnahurich Bridge. After lunch, we visit Cawdor Castle, forever immortalized in Shakespeare's Scottish Play Macbeth. The gardens have been listed among the top 100 in the U.K.

    Friday Overnight: Spirit of Scotland

After breakfast we transfer to 12th century Fortrose Cathedral, crossing the Beauly Firth to the Black Isle. We walk to Rosemarkie via Chanonry Point, one of the best places to see bottlenose dolphins in the U.K., then transfer to Culloden Field, site of the last battle stand of Bonnie Prince Charlie. We visit Clara Cairns, an Iron Age burial site before heading for a distillery tour and whisky tasting. Farewell Dinner on the barge tonight.

    Saturday

After breakfast, transfer to Inverness by private chauffeured minibus.
